Xsens has been measuring how people and machines move since 2000 and the company serves 2 distinct segments:
- Our motion capture systems deliver research-grade full-body movement data outside the lab, for biomechanics research, sports science, and entertainment. Motion capture is also the foundation of our Xsens Humanoid proposition.
- Our Inertial Sensor Modules are designed into drones, defense, autonomous vehicles, agricultural machinery, marine systems, and provide balancing for humanoid robots.

Xsens MTi is a separate product line: small inertial modules designed to be built into a machine rather than worn by a person. Xsens industrial-grade IMUs provide accurate orientation and state estimation data for dynamic balance control, gait optimization, and fall-prevention. Their robustness under vibration and magnetic disturbances makes them ideal for humanoid robot balance control in real-world environments.
